HEY! I’m Mandy, your new ADHD Business Coach.

YOUNG ADHD ME.

“Mandy has a lot of potential but doesn’t pay attention".”

“Mandy spends the whole class doodling on her papers.”

“Mandy would do well if she tried.”

….sound familiar?! :) If only I could go back and yell “IT’S THE ADHD!!” mannn, would that have saved everyone some headaches!

These phrases were scattered all over my report cards growing up. Same story all the time- lots of potential but not trying…and at the same time, when I was engaged in class , I remember my teacher pulling me aside after class to tell me that I was “being too much”… awesome. Lol.

When I was younger, I found school boring and was unfazed by “okay” grades. My mom on the other hand, wasn’t buying my B’s & C’s and KNEW something was off. I remember her telling my Doctor that I was “smart” at home but it just wasn’t translating to school…hmmm!

We went through this roller coaster until middle school until someone finally suggested I get tested for ADHD and whewwwww buddy did that change everything!!

POST ADHD DIAGNOSIS.

I received my ADHD diagnosis when I was 14 but didn’t pay too much attention to it until college when I signed half my life away to student loans & decided to give the whole school thing a real try…

Shortly after arriving at East Carolina University in 2005, I quickly realized that I did NOT learn the same way my friends did. I was pretty out of my element first semester- I had legit never studied for a test or even really taken notes…my palms are sweating just typing this HAH! I knew I had to figure something out and I had to do it FAST. I completely changed how I was approaching school; I sat in the front row, I spoke to all my teachers about my ADHD, AND I made a plan to study that felt more *me*….

And it paid off! I went from barely getting into college to earning two BA degrees and a Business Administration Minor while graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.89. *mom and dad were s-h-o-c-k-e-d*

During college I became determined to understand how my brain works, which allowed me to play around and adjust “normal” learning strategies to work for me and my ADHD brain. THIS was the turning point for me. When I realized I could adjust and tweak regular strategies to work better for MY ADHD BRAIN, I knew I was unstoppable…

The concept of taking regularly taught strategies and tweaking them to fit ADHD brains is at the very center of my business today; for the past decade and a half I have been trying and testing how to adjust different strategies to better work for people like me, people with ADHD, and I’m so proud and excited to share with you what I’ve learned.

Thanks for taking an interest in me and MOXIE MEDIA LAB LLC (oh yeah and that’s the business name, isn’t it fun!?).

XOXO, Mandy

SOME FUN STUFF :)

When I’m not Voxering clients or creating content for social media, I am most likely throwing a tennis ball! My rescue Pitt Mix, Sunny, is OBSESSED with her ball and I’m obsessed with her, so it works ;) You can find more Sunny content on my Instagram.

My favorite thing about being an entrepreneur, other than helping people, is the TIME FREEDOM. It has been my dreammmmm to create my own schedule ever since I started on this journey!! Being able to create my own schedule as someone with ADHD has been such a gift. I like slow quiet mornings, going to concerts, and dancing in the rain. I’m a free spirit but also love structure. I feel most grounded in nature; hiking, snowboarding, and being near the water (lakes though since my biggest fear is being eaten by a shark hehe) are all favorites of mine so I try to keep those in my schedule as much as possible. I also love traveling and learning about other cultures- I have a Spanish degree and love to practice! But mostly, I love the people close to me dearly and I love spoiling them with the fruits of my success!
